Alexander Wang Calls on Skrillex, Among Other A-Listers for FW16 Campaign

The weather's shifting, leaves are turning and nights grow longer, all this means that it's time for fashion houses the world over to get their Fall/Winter 2016 campaigns underway. Last night, Alexander Wang released a few screen captures and a snippet of footage via the label's IGshowcasing pieces from his collection along with some familiar faces.

"Pop culture - it's what I feel, it's what I do - it's the Wang counties!"

Stand out pieces from the collection include a peacoat-bomber hybrid and toe-capped utility boots. Wang appears to be channeling his personal aesthetic of choice with this collection, stating "Pop culture - it's what I feel, it's what I do - it's the Wang counties!"

The accompanying campaign visual is orchestrated by Toronto native Director X, who's worked with a plethora of millennial icons such as Drake and Kanye.

Music that can be heard in the snippet was produced exclusively for the video by Skrillex - a long time fan of Wang's creations.

Enlisting the likes of Kylie Jenner, Tyga and a slightly awkward looking Skrillex - scenes of debonair debauchery fit into the darker hedonistic aesthetic the Taiwanese American designer debuted back in February.

A moodier take on 80s charm of shaggy faux fur, as well as oversized sweaters that, if you squint, could be interpreted as a nod to his successor as Creative Director of Balenciaga - Demna Gvasalia of Vetements. The energy of this collection is the embodiment of those parties that you wish you heard about, let alone got invited to. But maybe have someone put on a playlist or something at the next one and let Skrillex chill.
