Rappers Without Borders Hip Hop Showcase

Hip Hop in Vancouver has been moving from strength to strength. With the current zeitgeist of local talent stepping their game up, there's been a knock on effect on all the hubs across the city. The charitable cool cats over at UBC's Rappers Without Borders club have been nurturing a scene and providing a platform for creatives to connect, develop their skills with things like regular showcases.

This year's showcase bills a strong roster of artists of various experience and will be taking place April 7th at The Pit Pub on campus. One of the fresh faces creating a stir is Missy D with her smooth flow and relatable storytelling, check out below for her most recent music video. Others tickling our fancy are Alexanderg.a.t. and Francis Arevalo.

Music aside, for the past 3 years the collective has been promoting awareness of a great cause - Médecins Sans Frontières. MSF or Doctors Without Borders is a internationally recognised non-governmental organisation that provides emergency medical aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics and disasters. So if you're looking to support a great cause along with some tight newcomers, be sure to check the event here and cop tickets here.
