Dubstep Legend Mt Eden Plays Surprise Set in Toronto [GALLERY]

If you’re not familiar with Mount Eden, you probably lived under a rock, or 1D and JB were still in your “Most Played” playlist -- not judging. We haven't heard from this duo since 2013, when they announced the release of a completely re-made version of their original "Sierra Leone" and three remixes of the same song by Ta-ku, AraabMuzik and Tommie Sunshine with Live City.

Here are RENDRD we would much rather spend our time searching for unique and alternative ways to spend our night out than going to see a top 40 artist. We struck gold when we heard Harley Rayner, member of the legendary dubstep duo Mount Eden, would be making a surprise appearance in Toronto. It sounded too good to be true.

The night took place BLVD Toronto, a venue that has hosted surprise guests such as Diplo, Snoop Dogg and Toronto’s very own Unimerce since its opening in October. I knew exactly what I was in for, but I was surprised to see how Rayner’s style has evolved since I last heard their sets from 2010. He seamlessly blended dubstep, with banger trap anthems and drum and bass like no other DJ I’ve shot before.

Wether you’re a resident, or visiting Toronto for the holidays, make sure to drop by BLVD for their Jackie Boys Thursday at 365 King St.

Oh, did I mention they were just nominated for “Best New Club” at the Toronto Nightlife Awards?
