Nice Girl Launches First Collection with Experience Pop Up [NSFW]
Winter in Vancouver is a time of hibernation, the summer days are long gone but that hasn't squashed the creative output of the local scene's culture drivers. One cool cat who's stayed busy is Angela, aka Donna Crooner, Creative Director and visionary behind Nice Girl.
December saw the launch of the debut collection through an immersive exhibition hosted at Fortune Sound Club's pop-up space. Live printing of the notorious 3M graphics coupled with a guest set from Switch.mp3's Syd Woz made for a truly interactive experience; flick through below:
RENDRD had a chance to catch up with Donna Crooner to reflect on the origins story of how Nice Girl has spawned a local cult like following;
On origins: "Nice girl started as a silly little quote I came up with, Jealous bitches finish never. Then I'd repeatedly tweet "Nice girls worldwide" and had Nice Girl in my Instagram bio and I noticed it catching on around my friends and network."
On creative influence: "At the time I was generating a buzz, I worked for Frankie Collective alongside Creative Dir. Sara Gourlay who's been a muse and inspiration for me."
Having sold out of the Ultra Mini Reflector Halter and almost all of the extremely limited "Test" Hoodie - a restock may be in the pipeline. Check out what's on offer over on their webstore and be sure to follow Nice Girl Shop on IG to stay up to date with upcoming releases.
